13. Lovell was Neil Armstrongas a backup for Apollo 11, then was placed on the Apollo 14 schedule, but he and his crew were lined up.
“I went home and told my wife, ‘We’ll be going at 1pm, not 2pm’ and he or she said ‘1pm? ” Lovell recalls in interview with Astronomy magazine. “I said, ‘Well, it comes after 12.’ Then they put it within the movie.”

“I met Marilyn, she was very gracious and helpful.” – Quinlan he remembered Shocking interviews in 2014. “Jim and Marilyn flew to Houston. Jim actually flew the plane and Marilyn sat within the back serving coffee. It was really lovely.”
“I’ve met quite a lot of astronaut wives and realized once I met and talked to them what a robust, essential influence that they had on their husbands and where they were of their minds before they took off,” she continued. “That they had to be really ready, and it had loads to do with who supported them. Marilyn was very helpful.”
