The adult entertainment site has been swept away by stricter Utah laws that only allow access with a government-issued ID, reasonably than identifying users by their device.
Web users in Utah who tried to access Pornhub on Tuesday received a video message from Cherie Deville, an adult film actress.
“While security and compliance are on the forefront of our mission, providing your ID each time you wish to visit an adult platform shouldn’t be essentially the most effective solution to protecting our users and can actually put children and your privacy in danger,” says Deville in the clip.
“Until an actual solution could be offered, we’ve got made the difficult decision to completely disable access to our Utah site.”
The corporate wants Utahans to contact local representatives to urge another approach to identification.
The Post contacted Utah Governor Spencer Cox for comment.
The vice principal was was the primary to deliver the message.
The Republican-controlled Utah legislature passed two bills last month – one requiring age verification and the opposite making it easier to sue social media firms for damages – which Cox signed into law.

State legislators in Louisiana passed an analogous law that went into effect earlier this 12 months.
