Priyanka Chopra revealed on Tuesday that a botched nose job had left her “deeply depressed”.
“It was a dark phase,” the 40-year-old Love Again actress told Sirius XM.The Howard Stern Show“.
She underwent a profession change procedure after winning the Miss World 2000 title and being courted by Bollywood.
She said doctors really helpful that she have a polyp removed from her nasal cavity. She claims that the surgeon unintentionally shaved the bridge of her nose and caused it to collapse, leading her to be fired from three movies.
She feared that her acting profession was “over before it began”.
“This is occurring and my face looks completely different and I went right into a deep, deep depression,” added Chopra, who said she was afraid to go away the home.
Her father, who’s a health care provider, finally persuaded Chopra to undergo a surgical correction – despite her concerns.
She was capable of rebuild [her] trust.”
She also credited Bollywood film director Anil Sharma for giving her the job.
“He when the tide was against me said, ‘It may be a small part, but give it your all.’ And so I did,” Chopra explained.
That is not the primary time the actress became frank in regards to the procedure.
In her 2021 memoir “Unfinished”, she recalled that she thought her decimated self-esteem would never “stand up from the blow”.
She said she was encouraged to do more cosmetic procedures to advance her profession.
She told how the director/producer told her to show around so he could get an excellent have a look at her features.
“He checked out me long and hard, assessing me, after which suggested I get breast surgery, get my jaw fixed, and add some more cushioning to my ass,” she wrote in her book. “If I desired to be an actress, he said, I’d should get my proportions ‘fixed’, and he knew an amazing doctor in Los Angeles who he could send me to. My manager on the time agreed to the assessment.”
She said she eventually dumped her manager and decided to not hearken to advice. Beyond her nose, the “Citadel” star has learned to understand her own beauty.
“If I looked like other ‘classically beautiful’ girls, I would not stand out, and more importantly, I would not be myself,” she revealed within the book.
“Now after I look within the mirror, I’m not surprised; I’ve come to terms with it a little bit different me. … I’m like everyone else: I have a look at myself within the mirror and think possibly I can lose some weight; I feel I’d practice a bit more. But I’m also satisfied. That is my face. That is my body. I can have flaws, but I’m me.”
Chopra has recently bloomed of her husband, Nick Jonas, 30, calling him “the kindest, most generous, gentle, caring man.”
The couple welcomed Malti, who’s 15 months old, via a surrogate.
For some time, their daughter rarely appeared in public, appearing on social media with an emoji masking her face.
The toddler made his first public appearance in public Jonas Brothers Walk of Fame Celebration in January.
