Problem: Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib’s attempt to organize an event she calls the founding of Israel a “catastrophe.”
Representative Rashida Tlaib planned to organize an anti-Israel party to have fun the seventy fifth anniversary of the so-called “catastrophe” resulting from the creation of the state of Israel (Tlaib Capitol hate-fest, May 9).
In actual fact, the “catastrophe” that occurred 75 years ago was the Palestinian leadership’s decision to reject any partition plan that will involve a Jewish state.
This disastrous decision was repeatedly confirmed by Palestinian leaders in the following a long time and led to the deaths of hundreds of Israelis and Palestinians.
The absurd claim by Tlaib and others that Israel is to blame for this “catastrophe” is nothing lower than a contemporary defamation of the Jewish people.

It’s an interesting irony that Tlaib, a proud American of Palestinian descent who has led efforts to delegitimize the Jewish state, has in the past accused American Jews of dual allegiance.
Given her anti-Israel actions and statements, nobody has a more disturbing dual allegiance than Tlaib.

Arab leaders began threatening violence even before the United Nations approved the partition plan for Palestine in 1947.
In actual fact, nearly two-thirds of the Arabs who left Palestine in the Nineteen Forties fled before major fighting even began.
The actual catastrophe of the Palestinian refugees (so called by the United Nations Relief and Labor Agency) is that the Arab nations have condemned them to the refugee abyss.
Of the fewer than 700,000 Arabs who fled Palestine in the Nineteen Forties, not more than 30,000 are likely alive.
Yet UNRWA has 6 million of their descendants, while the United Nations supports Arab leaders of their insistence that it’s Israel’s duty to provide the refugees with the homes they claim their parents, grandparents and great-grandparents lost.
Surely the Arab countries, with their vast land holdings and oil wealth, must have welcomed Arabs who had fled Arab-initiated violence in Palestine.

Once I examine absurd crap like this, I’m reminded that even a village of idiots has a village idiot.
The blatant corruption, moral corruption, brazen arrogance and stupidity that we see, hear and browse about in American politics day-after-day is crushing the soul of our nation, driving ever greater wedges between its people.
All the best, Israel.

Problem: The coronation of King Charles III on Saturday at Westminster Abbey in London.
It is a disgrace how the US media has elevated King Charles’s coronation to headline news (His Majesty King Charles III, May 7).
The English Empire ruthlessly colonized the world, exploited the conquered and even caused mass famine in India and Ireland.
It’s ridiculous to treat a monarchy with any respect.
The king has no real power, and the whole family is a farce and a joke.
The mistress of King Charles from the time he was married to Princess Diana, she has now been elevated to the rank of queen. They don’t have any shame.
Yes, it is a news event, however it must be limited to a single article buried deep in the newspaper.

Those that oppose the monarchy notice the crowds at the coronation.
The people love the king and so they love the monarchy.
We must show love for our country as the English do.
It’s beautiful and patriotic.
Good luck for England.
