Beloved actress Jacklyn Zeman, known for her role as Bobbie Spencer on the hit soap opera General Hospital, has died at the age of 70.
“Like her heroine, the legendary Bobbie Spencer was a shiny light and a real skilled who brought a lot positive energy to her work” – Executive Producer Frank Valentini he wrote on Wednesday in a press release on Twitter.
“We are going to miss Jackie greatly, but her positive spirit will at all times continue to exist in our solid and crew. We send our condolences to her family members, family and friends, especially her daughters Cassidy and Lacey.
The actor’s family died after a brief battle with cancer told ABC News.
Zeman appeared in over 800 episodes of General Hospital over a 40-year period, earning a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her performance as Nurse Spencer.

Originally from Latest Jersey, Zeman began acting in highschool and studied dance at NYU.
She worked as a Playboy bunny before she landed her first major TV role on “One Life to Live” as Lana McClain.
“General Hospital” solid members mourned the death of the iconic soap opera star in a flood of emotional tributes.
“I’m heartbroken to listen to this news. One of the nicest people I’ve ever met. My deepest condolences to her family, friends and fans,” said Kathleen Gati, who plays Dr. Liesl Obrecht.
Actor Parry Shen, who plays Brad Cooper on the series, described Zeman as “an absolute legend” who was “right down to earth”.
“I loved hearing her stories about the show in the 70s and 80s.” Shan said. “All the time so kind and right down to earth. We are going to miss you a lot, Jackie. Condolences to her daughters, family and legions of fans who’ve loved Bobbie Spencer for a long time.”
She left behind two children, Cassidy and Lacey.
