Methods to create a solid skilled network
Now that we have established how necessary networking is for female entrepreneurs, let’s move on to the subsequent query: How do you create a solid skilled network?
Let’s take a have a look at the three strategies below:
1. Give attention to your relationship skills
One of the cornerstones of successful networking is cultivating long-term relationships. Working with like-minded people, industry leaders and mentors allows us to create deep connections that transcend immediate advantages.
Hone your relationship skills by attending conferences, joining skilled organizations, and attending industry events. Listed below are some proven effective ways to construct lasting relationships.
Create an expert LinkedIn account (for those who haven’t got one) or change your LinkedIn profile for maximum impact. Find opinion leaders, role models, mentors or people associated along with your company and connect with them. Often, women entrepreneurs are so busy that they forget to construct a solid network base and commit to society.
2. Make short-term connections for immediate effect
While long-term relationships are essential, short-term relationships may also have immediate advantages. Short meetings at networking events, workshops or online communities can initiate collaborations and partnerships or result in the acquisition of latest clients.
Don’t underestimate the ability of a single conversation as it may open doors and create unexpected opportunities. Again, the use of online platforms akin to LinkedIn or Twitter can effectively expand short-term connections.
That is something I vouch for. One thing I did last 12 months was refresh my LinkedIn profile. Although I’ve posted on my site before, I could not do it consistently so I didn’t get many opportunities. So I began slowly posting topics related to my chosen niches. While miracles didn’t occur overnight, and my posts were initially only seen by a handful of people, over time my network grew.
Result: I gained leads who became my biggest long-term customers.
3. Make networking a priority
I do know that is difficult for many entrepreneurs. I admit. Working online is difficult.
For you. For me. For everybody.
Networking doesn’t end with “I-have-my-desired-project-so-no-more-random-connection-requests.”
In reality Women within the workplace the McKinsey report rightly sums it up:
Women have less access to senior leaders than men. Nevertheless, employees who often engage with senior leaders usually tend to ask for and receive promotions, stick with their corporations, and aspire to leadership roles.”
So please don’t stop for those who’ve achieved all the pieces you would like. Get rid of the awkwardness and find a standard language for conversation.
For instance, for those who send a connection request to someone on LinkedIn, you’ll be able to include a message saying that you have read that person’s article on XXX and would really like to know more about them. You’ll be able to start commenting on their posts along with your beneficial suggestions and send a link request.
That is just an example.
It is not just small talk.
These messages are only the alternative: they convey that you just are fascinated with having deep, meaningful conversations that may result in powerful relationships.
