DC boss James Gunn, 56, said Monday that ‘Wonder Woman’ star Gal Gadot has not been “kicked” from the series, reports The Independent.
Following the box office failure of Wonder Woman 2 and Gunn taking up as co-president and CEO, the Guardians of the Galaxy director shelved the third installment within the series.
The announcement of the shelving of the project got here days after Gadot, 37, tweeted how excited she was to proceed playing the superhero.
“I used to be so grateful for the chance to play such an incredible, iconic character, and most of all I’m grateful to YOU. fans. I am unable to wait to share the following chapter with you,” Gadot tweeted.
Gunn recently caused a Kryptonite-level scandal after deciding to drop Henry Cavill from playing Superman. The actor also recently quit his role in Netflix’s The Witcher.
“In spite of everything, I won’t be back as Superman,” Cavill wrote on Instagram. “.
Fans slammed Gunn’s decision and said that “booting” each Cavill and Gadot didn’t encourage confidence.
Gunn responded by saying, “I’m unsure where you get that ‘we have launched’ Gal from.”
