Netflix can hear a powerful “no” to the query: “Are you continue to watching?”
The streaming service has began rolling out an answer to ban password sharing – and users are threatening to unsubscribe.
Users are actually being hit with a warning message that reads “Your Netflix account is for you and the people you reside with – your household”, with “household” referring to people sharing the identical Wi-Fi.
Now subscribers who’ve shared accounts must either transfer their profile to a latest membership or add an extra member to the account for an extra monthly fee of $7.99.
Netflix subscribers have taken to social media to precise their anger, with many saying they’re nearly to cancel their accounts.
“Divorce is final. #CancelNetflix”, one person he wrote.
“Shame on you @netflix. Is not it bad enough that the associated fee of living is skyrocketing? Groceries, rent, gas, etc. Have not you had enough?” other he said.
“Let me process it. Netflix won’t pay its writers properly and is now charging extra cash for a feature they once openly advertised and encouraged. Seems like corporate greed to me,” one user noted, referring to the continuing writers’ strike.
Many individuals have revealed that they’ve canceled or downgraded their membership because they will not share an account with immediate members of the family who don’t live at home.
“I actually have been paying for Netflix for over 10 years. Each time they raise the value I still pay without asking. I actually have a premium subscription but today my grandchildren can not watch from home. No thanks Netflix. I’m done,” one person said.
“The ONLY reason I paid for the highest tier was because I desired to share with my kids outside of home. Now I save (and Netflix loses) $13 by downgrading to the fundamental package, and I see many others doing the identical. Smart Business Sense, Netflix” the parent noticed.
“if my household is in college, studying abroad, is in military service … how does it solve all this” someone asked.

“I live in a separate house from my teenage child and I pay for 2 screens so he can watch it from his home. This is our least viewed platform. I’ll use the $$$ saved for one more streaming service. I’ll NOT pay the additional $8″ one other parent said.
Netflix lost subscribers in the primary half of 2022 because of competition from other streamers, prompting it to crack down on password sharing.
