Sergio Calderón, best known to moviegoers for his role in the 1997 sci-fi comedy Men in Black, died of natural causes on Wednesday at the age of 77. the reports said.
Ten years later, he appeared in Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World’s End playing pirate lord Eduardo Villanueva.
The motion film was the highest-grossing film of 2007.

Calderón, who worked as an English teacher, first appeared in the 1971 film Bridge in the Jungle, starring John Huston.
He won a Screen Actors Guild card for his role in the 1979 classic comedy The In-Laws, starring Peter Falk and Alan Arkin.
Calderón also appeared in Huston’s 1984 drama Under the Volcano starring Albert Finney.
Around this time, he played several characters in the hit NBC series “The A-Team.”

In Men in Black, Tommy Lee Jones’ Agent K stops a gaggle attempting to cross the border and asks Calderon’s head on a stick, “What if I break your face,” “You are very ugly, aren’t you?” before adding “You do not speak a word of Spanish” and using a knife to reveal him as an alien.
In 2022, Calderón played a corrupt police officer in the mystery series “The Resort”.
“I really like playing these types of characters because people really hate me,” he says told the L.A. Times last week. “They tell me in the streets how much they hate me. But for me, that is my success. Because which means I used to be capable of persuade individuals with what I did.”

Calderón also said that he liked having people recognize him.
“If I could make them cry and make them laugh, then perhaps I’m a very good actor,” he said.
He’s survived by his wife Karen Dakin, children Patrick Calderón-Dakin and Johanna Calderón-Dakin, son-in-law Raaj, and grandchildren Krishnaavi, Emiliano and Victoria.
