This week, The Post exclusively confirmed that 66-year-old Kim Cattrall will return in this season’s reboot of Sex and the City, And Just Like That, to reprise her role as iconic publicist Samantha Jones in a cameo appearance. .
And it looks like some cast members are looking forward to this addition.
“I think it’s great. Yes,” Evan Handler, who plays the husband of Charlotte York’s character (Kristin Davis) he told the People on Saturday.
He continued, “Apparently [her cameo] it was filmed in a garage somewhere with no contact with anyone, so the only place I can greet her is in my living room when it’s on TV.
The spinoff premiered on HBO Max, now known as Max, in December 2021, with a second season scheduled for June 22.
Sources told The Post that Cattrall’s cameo didn’t leave a paper mark because they didn’t want others who worked on the show to find out – her name didn’t even appear on the call list.
“The fact that they’re keeping it very quiet suggests it might come back – not this season, but it’s definitely a cliffhanger that will keep people coming back for season 3,” an insider told The Insider Post about Cattrall’s cameo.
Cattrall seemed to hint at an appearance on social media after the news broke, reposting a photo of Variety’s article about her return.
Her appearance came after her alleged feud with other actors that occurred several years ago.
In 2017, the ladies were supposed to shoot the thirdSex and the citybut quickly stopped after alleged drama between the cast and Cattrall.
At that time, an article published by DailyMailwhich alleged Cattrall’s “demands” for the film.
As for the reboot, they wrote up Cattrall’s character, claiming she had moved to London and had a falling out with Bradshaw.
However, Cattrall claimed last year that she “was never asked to be part of a reboot.”
“I was never asked to be part of a reboot,” Cattrall said in an exclusive interview with Diversity then.
“I made my feelings clear after a possible third film, so I found out about it like everyone else – on social media.”
They were in the past too rumors of a riot between Sarah Jessica Parker’s Cattrall, including a fiery social media post following the death of the star’s brother – but Parker denied the alleged fight during an interview with The Post in 2018.
“I don’t agree with Kim [Cattrall]there’s no catfight,” Parker claimed at the time.
“I have never said anything publicly and never would. I’ve always only expressed admiration and gratitude for everything she contributed – and I still feel that way.”
Sex and the City aired from 1998 to 2004 for six seasons.
