It was Christmas Eve in Recent Richmond, Wisconsin, and Stan and Kelly Sias were celebrating with their clan. Then Stan began to feel weird.
“At one point I looked down and put a death grip on the kitchen counter and wasn’t sure why,” he said. “As soon as I began to let go, I began to fall over.”
The relative thought that Stan will need to have had a stroke and needed to get to the hospital. On the way in which, they called Westfields Hospital and, as Stan said, “they were definitely waiting for us.”
Westfields springs into motion
Upon Stan’s arrival, Westfields caregivers immediately went to work, testing, asking questions, and investigating every possible symptom.
“All the pieces went easily, no waiting or downtime,” said Kelly. “It was great. Attention, communication, people checking it multiple times. Not once did it feel prefer it was going too fast or that we were waiting too long.”
“I felt like I used to be the one one that caught the eye of the ability,” added Stan. “It was a wave of activity.”
Stan had indeed had a stroke, and an ambulance was called to take him to Regions Hospital, where he was to spend several days before returning home to Hudson.
Stan’s recovery
Even in those two days, he didn’t feel like a typical stroke patient.
“I used to be type of an anomaly on the hitting floor in Regions,” he said. “I desired to rise up and take a walk.”
Currently, Stan seems like he’s almost recovered, although he works very fastidiously with the tools in his workshop and is slightly unsteady on certain surfaces, resembling the bleachers. But he’s in a position to do whatever he wants. And he says that is largely as a consequence of the wonderful care he received immediately at Westfields Hospital.
“Should you’re going to have a stroke and never within the hospital, that was the most effective case scenario,” Stan said.
“To say we’re grateful for the care he has received could be an understatement,” added Kelly. “The eye and constant activity from the moment we were hooked has been absolutely wonderful.
“It was like a Christmas miracle.”
