Many fathers have to thank Carlos Santana on Father’s Day.
The famous guitarist hears from men all around the world telling him that they impregnated their spouses by swaying and swaying to his music.
“Lots of them tell me that their wives became pregnant with”Samba Pa Ti‘ Or ‘Europe‘ – the ballads,” Santana, 75, told The Post from his home in Hawaii.
“We have made an impact on the earth by way of facilitating a vibration that makes people feel spiritually and sexually at the identical time.”
The dad of three – who listened or didn’t listen to his favorite artists Marvin Gaye, John Coltrane, Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Nina Simone and Tina Turner when his own children were conceived – said his sensual sound unites him with fans across the continent.
“Because people grew up listening to this music of their living rooms, people made love to it, and someway we became just like the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, a part of the institution,” he said.
“I could go anywhere on the earth, Ireland, Japan or Africa, and I’m not a tourist, I’m a part of the family.”
Originally from Autlan, Mexico, whose father was a violinist, he started off as a street musician and quickly realized that his talent would sooner or later develop into his occupation.
“My father entered me into competitions and I at all times won,” he said. “There could be 50 other acts, but I’d at all times come out primary.”
10-time Grammy Award winner with 21 gold records to his credit, goes on tour this summer – with the primary stop on the Prudential Center in Newark on June 21.
He can even appear on the Beacon Theater on the Upper West Side on Saturday world premiere of “Carlos”, a documentary about his wealthy life and profession, a part of the Tribeca Film Festival.
In 1966 and 1969 he founded his band Santana, played at Woodstock.
“We were the brand new kids on the block. We’ve not even released an album yet,” he explained.
The enduring four-day festival brought him hope for the longer term.
“It was great to fly within the helicopter and watch the living ocean of flesh, hair, teeth, hands, eyes,” he recalls.
“We had the Vietnam War and the riots, however the hippies seemed to have love and my favorite three words: unity, harmony and unity.”
When he doesn’t rule, Santana manages him hemp line, Mirayo — which he says helps him make music.
“For me, it was never a drug, it was at all times a medication,” he said. “It makes you concentrate more. Awakens imagination”.
Former Big Apple resident Santana lived in Jamaica, Queens from 1973 to 1982 and said his favorite places to play were Madison Square Garden and the Jones Beach Theatre.
On this trip his wife, Cindy Blackmana drummer who played with Lenny Kravitz will perform with him on stage.
“A variety of women are starting to drum these days, but they’re doing it because they need to be cute and so they want to be noticed,” he said. “She doesn’t play like that. She is a gladiator.
The rock star, who had two stents implanted in his heart in 2021, has said that when he dies, he doesn’t want “Amazing Grace” to be played at his funeral.
“You possibly can sing ‘Who Let the Dogs Out’, ‘La Cucaracha’, ‘Wild Thing’ or ‘Tequila. Because I’m not a wretched sinner. I don’t think God made me unhappy. That is nonsense to me.
