While the crews race against time to locate and rescue the passengers of a submarine that has disappeared while exploring the wreck of the Titanic, the stepson of considered one of the missing men won’t let the unfolding ordeal stop him from considered one of his passions: mad madness with Blink 182.
Brian Szasz – whose stepfather billionaire Hamish Harding is considered one of five individuals who may very well be trapped in total darkness 12,000 feet under the Atlantic Ocean with an oxygen supply of around 40 hours – said Monday he’s attending a Blink 182 concert in California despite the continuing situation.
“It could be distasteful to be here, but my family would love me to be at a Blink-182 concert because they’re my favorite band and music helps me through tough times!” wrote on Facebook.
Szasz posted a photograph of himself smiling in a Blink-182 T-shirt in front of the official merchandise tent on display and accomplished the post with black heart and praying hands emojis.
Just 20 minutes earlier, Szasz revealed in a post that considered one of the missing is his stepfather.
“My stepfather Hamish is deep in thoughts and prayers of the submarine for the rescue mission to be successful,” he wrote alongside one other pair of emojis.
He previously made a post saying, “For privacy reasons, my mom asked me to remove all related posts thanks in your support.”
Despite his controversial decision to attend a rock concert while a member of the family is in mortal danger nearly 3,000 miles away, Szasz’s friends have arrived on the post office to specific their support for his decision.
“They’d absolutely want you to be there and luxuriate in yourself. In fact your thoughts are with them,” one wrote. “They comprehend it!”
“Every moment matters. Life doesn’t stop for anyone. You may have to live,” said one other.
Szasz’s stepfather, 58-year-old Hamish Harding, is a British billionaire, entrepreneur and explorer.
He had previously traveled into space aboard considered one of Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin missions, and along with astronaut Buzz Aldrin set the world record for the fastest circumnavigation of the Earth and visiting each poles.
Harding and his other passengers paid OceanGate Expeditions as much as $250,000 for tickets to board a submarine that traveled to the ocean floor off Newfoundland to go to the 111-year-old wreck of the Titanic.
During Sunday’s expedition, surface crews lost contact with the submarine after about an hour and 45 minutes of travel. There was no contact since then.
Coast Guard crews from america and Canada have been attempting to locate the ship since experts speculated it could be trapped within the Titanic wreck, left without power on the seabed or already imploded attributable to structural problems.
The Coast Guard announced that if the passengers were still alive, they’d have only 40 hours of oxygen left as of Tuesday.
