McDonald’s Grimace’s latest purple cocktail went viral after several different TikTokers managed to provide this delicious drink a quirky, dark twist.
Released on June 12, the blueberry-enriched drink commemorates Grimace’s birthday and captures the “iconic color and sweetness” of the character, in line with the fast food chain.
Next day, by KnowYourMemeTikToker that goes by @thefrazmaz posted a video depicting him sampling a shake after which walking over to the creator, who had seemingly passed out – maybe even dead – on the ground with a spilled drink accumulating near his head.
The clip, which has garnered over 2.3 million views, left some commentators wondering what was happening, with one wondering “I do not understand this trend, please someone explain it” and one other declaring him “Patient Zero” .

Almost a week after the discharge of the drink, one other TikToker posted a video depicting a child sipping a lavender liquid before seemingly losing his mind.
The video, which has surpassed 8.7 million views, then shows the child lying face up next to a puddle of spilled cocktail. Within the comments, one obvious fan joked, “it’s a dirt scene,” while one other added, “rest in a grimace,” and a third simply called the trend “crazy.”
For the reason that advent of Grimace, TikTok has spawned lots of of weird spin-offs, and social media users are getting increasingly creative as they struggle to secure their online fame.

One other TikToker has also succeeded get hundreds of thousands of views showing a group of ladies sampling a cocktail on a night out in town.
The video then takes a dark turn because it crosses onto a deserted road where two girls are apparently dead and the opposite is on all fours, slowly turning her head towards the camera while spitting out a tidbit of periwinkle.
It’s currently unclear how the fast food giant is reacting to the wild videos – or, frankly, why they began appearing in the primary place – although McDonald’s tweeted a picture of a hairy purple spot confirming the trend.
“Meee pretending to not see the twitch grimace trend” he wrote company on Tuesday.

A recently crowned LGBTQ+ icon, Grimace first appeared within the Ronald McDonald universe in 1971 because the four-armed “evil Grimace” who steals customers’ milkshakes, in line with Washington.
The character was later renamed a two-armed, happier version after the purple mascot was said to scare children.
In 2021, the manager of a McDonald’s in Windsor, Canada, stated that the lilac legend is a “huge soft palate” intended simply to point out that food tastes good.
