The Knicks were already expected to be well represented on Team USA at the FIBA World Cup later this summer, and now RJ Barrett is officially going too.
Barrett was named to Team Canada’s 12-man roster, joining NBA champion Jamal Murray of the Nuggets and All-Star Guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Thunder, amongst others.
Knicks teammates Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart were previously named to the U.S. squad, which will be coached by Steve Kerr.

The 23-year-old Barrett averaged 19.6 points and 5.0 rebounds in 73 games for the Knicks last season and averaged 19.3 points and 4.5 rebounds in 11 postseason games.
Barrett’s father, a former St. John’s, Rowan Barrett Sr., is the general manager of the Canadian team.
The forged also includes Dillon Brooks, Kelly Olynyk, Lu Dort, Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Cory Joseph.
The FIBA World Cup will run from August 25 to September. 10 in Indonesia, Japan and the Philippines.
