A FIFO worker dubbed “the hottest truck driver in the world” has revealed her insane six-figure salary, which she says has allowed her to live “at her best”.
Perth resident Ashlea used social media to get a glimpse of her busy life in distant Western Australia.
Working as a dump truck driver, he works 14 days, 14 days off, in the Pilbara mines, waking up at 4am for hectic 12-hour shifts in the heat.
But the exertions paid off, with Ashlea earning $120,000 a yr for the job “six months out of the yr” – adding she had an “amazing life”.
How can I live such a superb lifestyle in mining? I have an amazing life” Ashlea said in a TikTok video.
“So how am I speculated to achieve this? Well, to start with, I do a two-and-two schedule, so I have two weeks off every month, so I have loads of time to do some really awesome stuff.
“I made doing super cool shit a priority in my life.
“I at all times go to parties, I at all times party, I at all times travel, I at all times eat out, I just do whatever I love.”
She highlighted several “contributing aspects” that allowed her to live her dream life.
“To start with, I do not have kids, thank God… I do not have kids,” she explained with fun.
“Second, I’m single by alternative, so I do not have to fret a few partner.
“I do not have debt either, so I own my very own automotive. I sold my investment property, so without delay my checking account looks pretty good.”
She went on to elucidate exactly how much she earns as a FIFO truck driver.
“We do not keep doormen here, so let’s speak about money,” she said.
“After all, all firms can pay in another way, so that is what I personally got.”
When she started off as an intern, she was making $36.50 an hour.
But after her first three months at the mine, she received a raise, bringing her hourly wage to $43.50.
“In order that’s a reasonably good jump,” she said.
“For my first yr as a greenie (truck driver), which might make me around $94,000 to $95,000 a yr for six months, so pretty good for a latest truck.
“If I had stayed here as an experienced truck driver, I think I would have made about $46.50 an hour.”
After completing her freshman yr, Ashlea modified contractors and her latest hourly rate increased to $51.50.
“In order that’s pretty good,” she said.
“The contract company I work with pays you a bonus every month and pays you $2,000 for each month you stick with them, so it could possibly be anywhere from $6,000 to $10,000.
“So my $51.50 per yr could be about $112,000.
“With my bonuses, that could possibly be one other $10,000 – that is $122,000 for my first yr.
“I think that is pretty good for less than working six months a yr as a truck driver.”
In a latest TikTok video, Ashlea was shocked after someone online recorded a video about being the “hottest” truck driver in the world.
The clip shows her living her best life as a person with an American accent tells her story.
“Someone made a video of me online and it just got sent to me,” she said.
“I had the biggest fucking LOL. He holds the title of the hottest trucker in the world, a bit an excessive amount of responsibility, but I appreciate it.
“It’s like this Americanized montage of my life. That is gold.
Ashlea said she had no experience before working in the mines.
She started off in “utility utilities”, where she juggled quite a lot of roles, including cleansing, bar work, kitchen help, and security, only to get her foot in a door.
“I will admit the pay was crappy and it was really exertions,” she said.
“It is so hot, there are such a lot of flies and it’s disgusting, but I’ve only been doing it for 3 months and it’s given me the opportunity to get FIFO experience on my resume.”
Eager to get right into a higher role, Ashlea said she kept calling the mining construction company until she passed the hiring process.
“It took about six phone calls over several weeks,” she said, adding that “perseverance” was key.
Eventually, she was offered an internship where she could learn a big selection of skills, including driving a truck and operating machinery and equipment safely.
“The trucks are very easy to drive,” she said.
“I was lucky enough to get a tipper truck driver traineeship with the contractor, and before I even went to the construction site, they arrange a truck driving school at their headquarters in Perth.
“I had a two-week training where you’ll learn all about the mine, the different machines and the truck itself.
“So being experienced, I was capable of review them after which they may send me directly to those sites.
“After that, I felt confident, immediately flew to the construction site and commenced driving the truck.”
Despite working under difficult conditions, Ashlea said taking two weeks off every month makes the job rewarding.
“My principal reason for wanting to do FIFO was because I like to travel and … I get two full weeks off every month,” she said.
“So regardless that these two weeks at work are really hard… I’m definitely embellishing it a bit.
“And it isn’t at all times like that, it’s really long days, you are isolated from family and friends, you are consistently drained, it’s hot.
“There are such a lot of downsides, but while that is the case with me, I have an entire two weeks off so it’s very value it.”
Before turning to the mining world, Ashlea said she had a standard 8 to five job, but still craved something outside of her comfort zone.
“Weekends off just weren’t enough for me,” she added.
“I earn quite a bit more with FIFO, so it’s easier for me to get monetary savings. One among my goals is to build up several investment properties.
“I’m getting older and I would really like to have children at some point, so I wish to grow to be financially stable.
“So I’m doing FIFO for the lifestyle, I’m traveling and I’m financially positioning myself for the future.”
