Disgraced FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried, again, again, polyamorous friend Caroline Ellison was fearful about “causing drama” due to their multiple breakups, she reportedly confessed in private writings.
The previous CEO of Alameda Research, set to be a key witness when Bankman-Fried goes on trial this fall for allegedly extorting FTX customers out of billions of dollars, detailed her unhappiness and discomfort about their relationship before the corporate collapsed last November in a series of Google documents, in keeping with Latest York Timeswho viewed the posts.
In a single February 2022 entry, Ellison, now 28, wrote that the confused lovers were at risk of “doing strange things” and “causing drama” at the corporate, worrying that “the top doesn’t really appear to be in sight,” the Times reported.
In one other post addressed to Bankman-Fried in April 2022, Ellison wrote that breaking up with him earlier “significantly diminished my excitement for Alameda.”
The Stanford graduate who was handpicked by Bankman-Fried to run FTX’s sister company Alameda added that she “felt too attached to you in a way that was painful.”
In accordance with the Times, previously unreported personal writings, including Ellison’s handwritten diary, “circulated amongst lawyers involved in the case.”
Bankman-Fried, who’s currently under house arrest, denied wrongdoing and pleaded not guilty to plenty of charges. His trial will begin on October 4.

Ellison pleaded guilty to federal fraud charges in December, telling the court she was “very sorry” for her actions.
In her writings, Ellison expressed doubts about her own leadership abilities at Alamed’s helm – citing “leadership and ‘decisiveness’ as qualities she needed to enhance.
“Running the Alameda doesn’t feel like something I even have a comparative advantage in or that I’m well suited to,” Ellison wrote in an April 2022 document.

Her various other posts, especially on social media, have been under intense scrutiny since FTX and Alameda entered the worldwide highlight last 12 months.
As reported by The Post, Ellison raised her eyebrows as she tweeted about her “regular amphetamine use” in 2021.
Ellison’s personal Tumblr blog, which contained graphic references to polyamory, was also taken down by the general public after FTX’s demise.

Ellison and at least two other former FTX executives, Nishad Singh and Gary Wang, are cooperating with authorities on the matter.
Her testimony is anticipated to be crucial to the conviction of Bankman-Fried, given the central role played by Alameda. Bankman-Fried and a gaggle of his close associates are accused of misappropriating FTX client funds to cover losses from dangerous bets in a cryptocurrency hedge fund and to finance a lavish lifestyle that included extravagant purchases of real estate in the Bahamas.
A representative for Bankman-Fried didn’t immediately return a request for comment.
