Social media star Lil Tay, née Claire Eileen Qi Hope, has reportedly died at age 14.
Representatives for the rapping teen, who rose to digital fame at age 9 in 2017 by sharing spoof clips of herself holding wads of money to her ear, announced her death on Instagram Wednesday.
Her reason behind death has not been publicly revealed.
“It’s with a heavy heart that we share the devastating news of our beloved Claire’s sudden and tragic passing,” read the statement dedicated to the native Canadian.
“We have now no words to precise the unbearable loss and indescribable pain” continued the message. “This final result was entirely unexpected, and has left us all in shock.”
The Instagram post went on to disclose that Tay’s brother also died. Her late sibling’s identity has not yet been confirmed.
“Her brother’s passing adds a fair more unimaginable depth to our grief,” said the net notice.
“During this time of immense sorrow, we kindly ask for privacy as we grieve this overwhelming loss, because the circumstances surrounding Claire and her brother’s passing are still under investigation,” the spokesperson wrote.
“Claire will endlessly remain in our hearts, her absence leaving an irreplaceable void that can be felt by all who knew and loved her.”
Fans flooded Lil Tay’s Instagram comments with condolences.
“Rest up…That is tragic,” penned a mourner, punctuating thief grief with a broken heart emoji.
“So heartbreaking,” groaned an equally crushed admire.
“R.I.P. Angel,” said one other.
Lil Tay’s death closely trails the lack of fellow Gen Z influencer Annabelle Ham, 22, who died after suffering an “epileptic event” in July, and “Bucket list” TikTok star Harrison Gilks, 18, who passed after an extended battle with cancer in April.
