Jeremy Renner is in a critical but stable condition after an accident while clearing snow on Sunday, the actor’s representative said.
“We are able to confirm that Jeremy is hospitalized in a critical but stable condition with injuries sustained after a weather-related accident while clearing snow,” the representative said. “His family is with him and he’s receiving excellent care.”
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office said it was responding to a report of an injury in the Mt. Rose in Reno, Nevada at around 9:00 a.m. local time (12:00 p.m. EST) Sunday.
Renner, 51, was said to be the one person injured in the incident.
“Deputies coordinated with the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to rearrange for medical transportation of Mr. Jeremy Renner on an emergency flight to an area hospital,” the sheriff’s office said.
It was reported that the Major Accident Investigation Team on the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
In keeping with Renner, he has a house in Nevada Press Associationbut it was not clear exactly where he was injured.
In 2015, the actor published picture on Instagram of a groomer vehicle that’s used in snowy conditions. It wasn’t immediately clear if the vehicle was involved in Sunday’s incident.
Renner is well-known for his role as Hawkeye in the Marvel’s Avengers team. He can be twice nominated for an Oscar for his roles in “The Hurt Locker” and “The Town”.
