Twitter is auctioning off coffee machines, kegerators, computers and even oversized neon signs bearing the company’s logo as the social messaging service reportedly falls behind on its office rent.
Interested buyers can flick thru the range of products that Twitter desires to sell through Web page with Heritage Global Partners, which runs the auction.
Amongst the various kitchen items that Twitter sells are a rotisserie stove, many fridges, and pizza ovens. A number of the office facilities include quite a few TVs, desks and conference equipment.
The company even sells a neon electric sign that prominently displays the bird’s corporate logo. As of Monday afternoon, someone placed a proposal on a neon sign for $17,500.
The equipment comes from the company’s San Francisco office and appears to be one other sign that latest owner Elon Musk is trying to cut costs amid quite a few financial difficulties as several firms have paused their Twitter ad campaigns.
Many civil rights organizations have called on firms to stop promoting on Twitter amid allegations that the company is failing to stop the spread of hate speech and other offensive content on its platform.
Musk himself alluded to the company’s serious financial problems, although in late December he reportedly said it was it is now not on the “fast track” to bankruptcy. In December The Recent York Times reported that Twitter stopped paying for the rental of all of the company’s office space.
