In what marked her first interview in her now viral rap on the nominated actresses, the Oscar winner said she desired to have fun women along with her performance on the February 19 ceremony.
“That is what I desired to do,” DeBose explained to BBC Radio 2 Zoe Ball breakfast programas seen in the excerpt published on ICT February 25. “It is not like I said, ‘Hey BAFTA, let me in! They called me, imagine it or not. It was an project like, “Come have fun women.” I assumed, “Absolutely!” And we did, and it was fun.”
