Well, that was definitely unexpected.
As Sunday’s fight between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury kicked off in Saudi Arabia, Logan Paul was approached by ringside reporter Radio Rahim, who asked if he had given his younger siblings a word of encouragement before the match.
“I said, ‘Jake, I love you, I’m not going to make an enormous speech, I do know you understand that, but either come back victorious or come back in your shield,'” Logan, 27, said, ending his message with a heartfelt, “I love you brother.” .
Although Logan clearly conveyed those three meaningful words to his 26-year-old brother, the reporter didn’t take it that way.
“I love you too man,” he replied, unsurprisingly, prompting a series of reactions on Twitter – including one from Rahim himself.
“When the very best a part of this fight is the presenter thinks Logan Paul loves him…” British radio presenter Roman Kemp tweeted, to which Rahim replied with a smiling face emoticon.
Elsewhere on social media, Fox Sports Australia’s Ben Damon he joked concerning the awkward exchange“A remarkable moment on boxing television.”
Paul, who entered Sunday’s competition undefeated as knowledgeable boxer, received his first loss from 23-year-old Fury via split decision after eight rounds.
“I’ve already won in every possible way in my life,” Paul said. “I got further than I ever thought possible and beyond. It is a humiliating experience. I’ll take it on my chest and are available back.
Paul, currently 6-1 in his profession, later received a message of support from Logan on Twitter.
“I’ll all the time stand by you in victory or defeat @jakepaul. You fought like a warrior and you could have already overcome life’s adversities.” Logan wrote. “Big congratulations to the Furys, what a fun family.”
