A woman has gone viral online after revealing what happened when she confronted her mother about her “misbehaving” child.
The passenger explained that she was traveling to Los Angeles from Dallas in the hunt for work when things took an unexpected turn.
“I used to be sitting next to this 20-year-old mom with a baby who appeared to be about three to 4 years old,” she began. Reddit post.
“We sat within the aisle while mom sat by the window, her baby in the center, and I sat on the sting.”
The girl said that after about 20 minutes of the flight, the young boy began to rise up within the seat and “stomp, barely screaming”.
“All this while mum’s nose was on her phone the entire time,” the frustrated passenger continued.
“I attempted to make eye contact along with her to let her know that her child was not behaving.”
Nonetheless, in line with the girl, the mother “refused” to take her eyes off the phone.
“I assumed possibly after about 10 minutes the child would get drained and sit low, and here the child doesn’t.”
The girl said that then she decided to confront her mother, but things didn’t go her way.
“I patted my mum on the shoulder and told her to observe her baby and tell him to sit down down. She gave me a nasty look and told me to mind my very own business.
The girl asked Reddit users if she was improper, and her post was bombarded with responses.
“I’d ask the child to stop screaming if mum didn’t prefer it, I’d tell her something about having to do it because she didn’t,” one person wrote.
“But I’m guessing she was so proven that she would not care if she just cared about someone telling her what to do.”
One other said, “I even have NO sympathy for fogeys who aren’t parents after which act resentful when people don’t desire to take heed to their screaming child.”
Meanwhile, a third person said they feel sorry for fogeys who are attempting to calm their baby but “do not have time for another person to play with their phone as an alternative of TRYING to calm their baby down.”
Others, including parents, wondered why the mother didn’t bring entertainment to the child.
“I even have two children that I needed to travel with, but I at all times brought them entertainment and tried my best to not disturb others,” the mom wrote.
“Fortunately, they’re teenagers now. Traveling with young children sucks.
One other Reddit user said he would pay more for a long-haul flight without children. “I live in Australia so flights to America/Europe take 24 hours and I hope I never find myself in this example,” they wrote.
