In keeping with Sarah Ferguson, not even death will stop the late Queen Elizabeth II from seeing her beloved corgis.
Ferguson, 63, said Elizabeth’s corgis, Sandy and Muick, “don’t bark” after they sense the Queen’s spirit is near.
The Duchess of York and her ex-husband, 63-year-old Prince Andrew, inherited the dogs after the monarch’s death in September.
“They’re national icons, so each time they run chasing a squirrel, I panic,” Ferguson said. People within the last profile.
“But they are a total joy, and I all the time think that when they are not barking and there aren’t any squirrels in sight, I feel it’s since the queen is passing by,” said the writer of The Most Intriguing Lady.
She continued, “They’re with me quite a bit they usually think I’m very funny.”
The producer of “Young Victoria” also reflected on the late queen’s historic 70-year reign and the style of person she was.
“She put you comfy straight away… She knew the best way to make people feel good. She never took it on board so far as she was concerned. It’s in regards to the monarchy, it’s about making someone feel good. She was my total idol,” Fergie recalled to her former mother-in-law.
In October, Ferguson opened up about her life with Sandy and Muick and the way grateful she is to have taken them in.
On the Henley Literary Festival, she described the adoption as a “great honor” and called the corgi a “national treasure”[s]adding that they were “well educated”.
She joked: “All of them balance one another, the carpet moves after I move, but I’m used to it by now.”
Along with corgis, Andrew and Fergie own five Norfolk Terriers.
The Duke of York seems to have a similarly affectionate relationship with corgis and has been photographed in a comforting way at their mother’s funeral on September 19. His relationship with the royal family is reportedly more strained. He was relieved of his royal duties in 2019 resulting from his association with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and is reportedly “offended” that his elder brother King Charles III is telling him to maneuver from the Royal Lodge to Frogmore Cottage.
