Elegantly decorated, Rocco’s Steakhouse has been attracting lovers of the most effective beef, veal and chicken with an Italian twist for nearly 10 years at 72 Madison Ave.
Now it’s adding a second location at 100 E. 57th St., the previous home of the unique BLT Steak, which closed a few months ago.
Rocco signed a lease for 3,500 square feet on the bottom floor, 1,350 square feet on the lower level, and 600 cubic meters on the mezzanine for a private dining area.
Jared Lack and Andrew Goldberg of CBRE represented the owner, a cooperative apartment constructing in Dorchester. The tenant was represented by David Tricarico and Christel Engel from Colliers.
The asking rent was $200 per square foot of land, which Lack today called “a very reasonable figure,” although “definitely lower than prices were 10 years ago.
He said that when the venue became available, he and Goldberg said it immediately attracted the “who’s who” of major restaurateurs.
The brand new Rocco will probably have nearly 175 seats, including a private room. Rocco Trotta and GM Pete Pjetrovic are partners in the enterprise.
