All of it connects.
An Australian woman nearing the tip of her pregnancy candidly revealed one among her favorite baby names on TikTok – only to have haters complaining that it sounds like a raunchy sex act.
Designer Ailie Smith shared several potential nicknames for her unborn boy on social media last month.
IN her videowhich has over 31,000 views, Smith lists a series of quirky names he plans to present his son, including Rou, Abbe, and George.
The blonde then reveals one name closest and dearest to her heart, stating “So the opposite name I had was on my list the longest… And that name is Augie.”
Perhaps due to Smith’s Australian accent, many viewers mistook Augie’s name for the word “orgy” and were quick to comment under the clip.
“Not Augie Appears as Orgy in Auto-Crediting!” one tickled TikToker replied.
Indeed, Smith’s TikTok video transcript comprises the word “orgy” as a substitute of “Augie” – regardless that he pronounces the name with a hard “g”.
The clip attracted attention in her native Australia, due to a website Child he relates the awkward confusion between Augie and the orgy.
“If this kid was named Augie, he could be in counseling for all times,” said one disgruntled viewer of the viral video.
“She clearly wants her child to be brutally bullied within the schoolyard. Just like bullying is not hard enough to avoid in childhood – it’s ASKING for trouble.”
“Parents who name their child something they think sounds cool or chic never think in regards to the real-world implications,” one other tart told the publication.
In keeping with name, Augie is generally used as a nickname for August or Augustine and is never chosen by parents as a name by itself.
The Post contacted Smith for comment.
Smith shouldn’t be the primary mum to have faced backlash against a bizarre nickname that sounds just like a cheesy word.
Last week, a Canadian couple revealed that their daughter’s name is Chree Mary Jane.
The moniker was met with scorn from family and friends, who identified that the name sounded just like “tree” – a coded term for cannabis.
