After Sanders sent the letter, Moderna said it might create an assistance program to make the vaccine free for the uninsured or underinsured.
Individuals who have Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance should still get the injection for gratis, but Sanders said the value increase “will cost taxpayers billions of dollars.”
