Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) angrily walked away from “Libs of TikTok” creator Chaya Raichik after she was denounced as “super transphobic” in a tense confrontation on Capitol Hill captured on amateur video last week.
Raichik posted a video on Thursday that was shot by the right-wing Heritage Foundation.
The creator of “Libs of TikTok” confronted Ocasio-Cortez after the two bumped into one another in the convention constructing.
“You are actually very transphobic and I never wish to share a seat with you,” the Recent York congresswoman angrily told Raichik in the clip before walking away.
“Thanks,” says Ocasio-Cortez in the clip, pointing to a close-by cellular phone camera that captured the dramatic exchange.
Raichik tweeted that she had been to the Capitol to serve Ocasio-Cortez with an ethics criticism “after she lied about me during a committee hearing.”
Raichik is seen in the clip alongside Mike Howell of the Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project.
The 2 file an ethics criticism with the office of a congresswoman representing parts of Queens and the Bronx.
A criticism filed by Heritage accuses Ocasio-Cortez of “defaming” Raichik during a Feb. 8 hearing before the House Oversight and Accountability Committee.
Under cross-examination, Ocasio-Cortez claimed that Raichik lied when she claimed that Boston Kid’s Hospital “now offers ‘gender-confirmation hysterectomy’ for young girls.”
“Are you aware … that from August 11 to 16, this account contained false details about Boston Kid’s Hospital, claiming that they performed hysterectomies on children?” Ocasio-Cortez asked the former Twitter executive about Raichik’s tweet.
“And do you realize that this lie was then spread by other outstanding far-right influencers?” asked Ocasio-Cortez.
A nine-page criticism filed by the Heritage Foundation claims that Ocasio-Cortez broke ethical rules by “knowingly and intentionally defaming Chaya Raichik, the creator of the viral Libs of TikTok account, falsely accusing her of lying and spreading misinformation…”
The Post asked for comment from Ocasio-Cortez, who has yet to publicly reply to the criticism.
Last yr, Facebook blocked “Libs of TikTok” after Boston Kid’s Hospital staff said they received threats after posting a post that alleged minors underwent hysterectomies as part of gender-confirmation surgeries.
Raichik, a Brooklyn real estate agent, gained over 1,000,000 followers on Twitter after retweeting TikTok videos of controversial drag shows involving children.
