Harry Potter could also be returning to Hogwarts soon.
Warner Bros. Discovery is heading in the right direction to finalize a deal that may bring the long-rumored Harry Potter TV series for HBO Max to the small screen.
As first reported Bloombergthe series could be based directly on J. K. Rowling’s best-selling novels, with each season specializing in one book in the seven-volume series.
The potential series would not be based on an in-universe spin-off just like the Unbelievable Beasts movies.
The concept of a single season per book suggests that the franchise could be an ongoing, multi-year Warner Bros. project.
Rowling is in initial talks to join the project as a producer and would have some creative involvement, although she wouldn’t be the show’s lead creator or showrunner.
Once Rowling officially comes on board, the project is expected to search for a screenwriter.
