Don’t judge a book by its cover.
A Canadian woman has revealed that people at all times think she’s too young for her fiancé – but it seems she’s 12 years older than him.
Nathalie Gagnon, 54, met her current fiancé, 42-yr-old David Poirier, on a dating app in 2008 and so they immediately developed a deep bond, despite their age difference.
Gagnon, who rose to prominence on social media in 2016 after she stopped drinking alcohol and commenced intermittent fasting, says people at all times think she’s much younger than Poirier.
“I at all times hear that I look much younger [than him] and most people think I’m in my 30s,” Gagnon told NeedToKnow.co.uk.
She continued, “The age difference doesn’t affect us, it’s just like several other relationship.”
The couple met when Poirier, who works as a pastry chef, was 27 and Nathalie was 39.
On the time, Poirier lived in Montreal and Gagnon in Quebec, so their relationship was long distance.
To make it work, they called one another day-after-day and decided to make it official – but the people of their lives weren’t pleased about it at first.
“I removed all of the toxic people who didn’t prefer it, family or not, because toxicity gets you down and I would like to live a pleased life,” Gagnon explained.
She continued, “[I ask myself]: Do I deserve happiness or do I care about what other people think? I at all times select the primary answer.”
Almost two years later, in 2010, Poirier moved to Gagnon, Quebec.
Now her family could be very accepting of this relationship, including her daughter, who’s 32 years old.
“It’s no person’s business and it never will probably be,” she said.
Gagnon posts videos on TikTok, where she recently made a splash by posing in a skimpy bikini.
She also revealed the “saucy” messages she receives from men online, including pictures of fetishes.
Viewers often compare her appearance to an adolescent.
At first, Gagnon’s future husband was not too pleased about it, but now they’re stronger than ever because she understands that that is just her occupation.
“He didn’t prefer it when people tried to flirt with me, but I gave him access to my cell and I never hide anything from him,” she said.
Yet she’s still inundated with comments from people who think she’s still too young to be a Poirier – including one which reads, “20 bucks says it is not true.”
Certainly one of her TikTok videos that reached almost 10,000 views was a clip of the 54-yr-old in a black bikini as her fiancé walks as much as her attempting to take her clothes off.
She even revealed that she was called a “hot cougar” by a few of her online followers, explaining that “most” of them are younger than her.
She claimed that her fiancé is happy with her and knows how hard she works.
“He knows that while I like rude messages from my fans, he’s the one,” said Gagnon.
But she stays strong and doesn’t let the haters influence her.
“Being a hot granny doesn’t change anything about who I’m on the within because I’m a form, kind woman who loves empowering other women,” Gagnon said.
