Weddings are often the day when a glass of champagne is raised for the bride and groom. Nevertheless, TikTok’s #DryWedding hashtag with thousands and thousands of views says otherwise. Kathlyn Bohatch, the June 2022 bride, celebrated her big day completely sober – as did all her guests, in order that things do not get out of hand. While the alcohol-free event looked “lit,” our host Asia Grace admits that almost all attendees show up expecting a sip, adding, “You may’t leave people high and dry!”
She spoke to a different alcohol-free bride, Danielle Kimberly, who got married on a beach in Hawaii. As an alternative, the health-conscious couple toasted with kombucha. Fortunately for the luxurious, not everyone throws alcohol down the drain. Courtney Thomas’s husband doesn’t drink, but they still spent $50,000 on an open bar to accommodate the drinking habits of the marriage guests. Thomas suggested that sober brides should no less than offer people a candy bar.
