Why is French President Emmanuel Macron fawning over China while destroying his oldest ally, the United States?
Why is there suddenly talk of rejecting the dollar as the global currency?
Why are Japan and India shrugging that they can not follow the US footsteps in boycotting Russian oil?
Why is Brazil’s president going to China for what he calls a “beautiful relationship”?
Why is Israel suddenly facing attacks from all directions?
What happened to Turkey? Why is it threatening Greece, a member of NATO? Is it still a NATO ally, only a neutral one, or a de facto enemy?
Why are there suddenly constant Chinese threats against Taiwan?
Why has Saudi Arabia made a latest pact with Iran, its former archenemy?
Why did Egypt secretly plan to send missiles to Russia to be used in Ukraine, according to leaked Pentagon documents?
Since when do the Russians keep talking about the possibility of using tactical nuclear weapons?
Why is Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador boasting that thousands and thousands of Mexicans have come to the United States, most of them illegally?
And why is he interfering in the US elections by persuading his emigrants to vote Democratic?
Why and the way in only two years has the confused and infrequently inconsistent President Joe Biden and his team created such global chaos?
Let’s answer by listing 10 ways America has lost all deterrence:
1) Biden suddenly pulled all US troops out of Afghanistan. He left tons of of Americans and hundreds of pro-American Afghans to the Taliban.
Biden ditched billions of dollars in US equipment, Central Asia’s largest airbase – recently upgraded at a price of $300 million – and a $1 billion embassy.
Our government called such a defeat successful.
The world disagreed and saw only humiliation.
2) The Biden administration allowed a high-altitude Chinese spy balloon to fly across the continental United States, spying on key American military installations.
The Chinese were defiant when caught and didn’t apologize.
In response, the Pentagon and the administration have simply lied about the extent to which China has been surveilling top-secret sites.
3) In March 2021, at a mini-summit in Anchorage, Alaska, Chinese diplomats unleashed relentless fire on their dazed and mostly silent American counterparts.
They lectured shy diplomats of the Biden administration about American toxicity and hypocrisy.
4) In June 2021, in response to Russian cyberattacks on the United States, Biden meekly asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to at the least shut down some critical American infrastructure.
5) When asked what he would do if Russia attacked Ukraine, Biden replied that the response would rely on whether the Russians would perform a “small incursion”.
6) In 2021-2022, Biden serially insulted and bragged about not meeting Muhammad bin Salman, the de facto ruler of Saudi Arabia and one in all our oldest and most respected allies in the Middle East.
7) For much of 2021, the Biden administration has made it clear that it’s willing and prepared to offer concessions to re-reconcile the dangerous nuclear cope with Iran – at a time when Iran has joined China and Russia in a latest geostrategic partnership.
8) Almost immediately after its inauguration, the administration moved the United States away from Israel, restored financial aid to radical Palestinians, and each publicly and privately alienated the current Netanyahu government.
9) Serially, Biden stopped all construction of the border wall and opened the border. During the 2019 Democratic presidential primaries, Biden reported that illegal aliens could enter the United States—an estimated 6 to 7 million did. Reinstated the “catch and release” principle.
And he did nothing about the importation of fentanyl by the Mexican cartel, which recently killed over 100,000 Americans a 12 months.
10) Over the past two years, the Pentagon has launched into an awakening program. The military is 15,000 in need of its annual recruitment quota. The defense budget will not be maintaining with inflation.
One in all the largest intelligence leaks in US history has just taken place from the Pentagon.
The Pentagon refused to admit guilt and misled the country about Afghanistan and the Chinese spy balloon flight.
The present Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff called his Chinese Communist counterpart and head of the People’s Liberation Army to inform him that the U.S. military would warn the Chinese if it determined an order from its commander-in-chief, then-President Donald Trump, was inappropriate.
This list of self-caused disasters could easily be prolonged.
But the examples explain well enough why our emboldened enemies don’t fear us, our triangulating allies find us unreliable, and the calculating neutrals assume that America is failing and too dangerous to join.
Without America, nonetheless, the result’s a latest Chinese order during which, to quote the historian Thucydides, “The strong do what they’ll and the weak suffer what they have to.”
