These sociable globetrotters are driven by naked ambition.
The English couple say they love to travel to distant corners of the globe where they’ll undress and embrace one another’s naked bodies.
Fiona and Michael Discombe have already spent almost $19,000 traveling to places where you possibly can get naked from dawn to moonrise – and they cannot wait to seek out more.
The couple, who’re of their 50s, first went naked on their honeymoon 20 years ago and say they’ve preferred to remain naked ever since.
At the time, the clothed couple were on vacation in Greece, where they got here across a ravishing cove and several other naked revelers.
“I remember there was nobody but one couple on this secluded Greek cove, after which I noticed they were naked,” Fiona told NeedToKnow.
“We each opened our eyes and at first I wasn’t sure how I felt about it, but it was such an ideal place.”
The Discombes realized they felt “uncomfortable” being the only ones dressed and undressed before running into the ocean feeling free.
“For the first time in my life, I felt so liberated and at last able to just accept my body shape and never care what people considered me,” said Fiona. “Feeling the elements on bare skin was so liberating and made me wish to be naked all the time.”
“We hope to go to as many naturist destinations as possible, including Thailand and Greenland, and plan to retire abroad,” she cooed.
Fiona and Michael weren’t all the time so comfortable showing off their bodies.
Each Britons say they struggled with body insecurity from an early age.
Fiona remembers being teased as a toddler after reaching puberty at the age of 10 – much sooner than any of her other classmates. To avoid bullying, she began wearing bulky, baggy clothes to cover her figure.
Meanwhile, Michael was ridiculed for going through puberty much later than his classmates.
But years later, going naked helped Fiona and Michael fall in love with their bodies and the world.
Discombes have spent a big amount of money exploring naturist communities across Europe and the Caribbean.
Fiona says attitudes towards this lifestyle are more accepted in other countries, and resorts and nudist areas in the UK are more “dirty”. The couple were also harassed, including once while walking naked.
“Most individuals verbally abused us and called us perverts or said we were as much as something,” recalls Fiona.
But the only place in England where exhibitionists can comfortably bare all of it is at home.
“Our neighbors were shocked, but after some time they didn’t give it some thought,” said Fiona. “Now it’s no surprise to them when we rest in the garden completely raw.”
“When it’s warm, we’ll stay at home naked and all the time sleep without clothes, because there’s nothing higher.”
“We are captivated with promotion [this] lifestyle and its advantages, and the way it helped construct our relationship,” Fiona stated.
She insisted that she and her spouse weren’t attempting to convert everyone to undressing, but simply wanted nudism to be higher understood and accepted.
“If we can remove the mystery of our lifestyle, we can encourage more people to grow to be more confident about their bodies,” Fiona said. “Now I can look in the mirror and I can hardly see any of the flaws I saw before.”
“It’s just my body and I’m happy with it.”
