Jonathan Majors could face more legal trouble after his March arrest on strangulation, assault and harassment charges.
Diversity reported On Wednesday, sources conversant in the case said more women had come forward to accuse the 33-year-old Lovecraft Country star of sexual harassment and were reportedly working with the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.
Majors has a court hearing scheduled for May 8.
“Jonathan Majors is innocent and has not taken advantage of anyone,” says his lawyer, Priya Chaudhry. Deadline said late Wednesday. “We’ve provided the district attorney with irrefutable evidence that the allegations are false. We’re confident that he can be fully acquitted.”
The Post contacted Majors for comment. The district attorney’s office declined to comment on Wednesday to The Post.
The news comes after reports that the Emmy-nominated actor was fired by his public relations firm, Lede Company, in addition to his management company, Entertainment 360.
The ‘Creed III’ star was arrested in a Chelsea apartment on March 25 after his unidentified girlfriend, 30, told police he had strangled her. The feud allegedly arose when Majors and the lady were returning home from a bar in Brooklyn in a taxi.
Sources told TMZ on the time that Majors’ girlfriend saw one other woman texting him and confronted Majors. The actor reportedly got offended, grabbed her hand and hit her.
NYPD police said the lady “suffered minor head and neck injuries and was transported to a neighborhood hospital in stable condition.”
Chaudhry said Majors is “completely innocent” and his girlfriend was having an “emotional crisis” that landed her within the hospital.
Chaudhry provided by TMZ with an exchange of text messages that he claims took place between Majors and his girlfriend, who seemed to be at fault within the incident.
She allegedly assured the actor that she told the police that “it was not an attack”.
“Please let me know you are okay if you get this,” the lady allegedly texted Majors. “They assured me you would not be charged.”
“They said that they had to arrest you per protocol once they saw my injuries and knew we were fighting,” the message continues. “I’m so offended that they did it. And I’m sorry you are in this case.”
“I’ll ensure that nothing happens to it.” I told them it was my fault that I attempted to grab your phone,” the SMS continued. “I really like you.”
After his arrest, the Army stopped the Majors’ publicity campaign; was faraway from the movie “The Man in My Basement”; and Valentino and Majors “mutually agreed” that he would now not attend the Met Gala next month.
Variety noted that he remains to be attached to “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” and Disney+ series “Loki”.
