A video of McDonald’s employees tackling disruptive customers in one of its stores has gone viral.
McDonald’s says that is “inconsistent” with its employee retaliation policy, but says there’s more to it.
An employee at Wynyard’s franchise store in Sydney’s central business district was caught on camera throwing a drink at an upset customer, who then proceeds to throw food back at employees in the early hours of last Thursday.
“What was not shown in the video was a customer entering the restaurant early and going behind the counter to disrupt the kitchen and threaten the staff,” McDonald’s Australia said in a statement.

“The behavior of our employees in this video is against our policies and we’re investigating this with the restaurant.
“Anti-social behavior will not be tolerated in our restaurants and we expect our employees to be treated with respect in any respect times.

“We’ll at all times do our greatest for our customers, but we don’t condone abuse, intimidation, threats or violence against our employees.”
Latest South Wales Police in Australia confirmed they visited a shop at Wynyard station after being told a 23-year-old man had been assaulted.
A short time later, police arrested a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old on George Street.
“Each teenagers were taken to the Day Street Police Station where they were treated under the Young Offenders Act,” police said.
