A passenger allegedly strangled a flight attendant on an Air Canada flight from Vancouver to Brisbane.
The plane was scheduled to reach at 7:40 on Friday, but was forced to divert to Honolulu after the crash.
Grainy video of the incident captured the tip of the confrontation when Hawaiian law enforcement officials boarded to remove the passenger.
An Australian woman whose partner was on the plane said Gold Coast Newsletter he was texting her while the bizarre scene was unfolding, claiming that the person was groping women before being handcuffed and tied to a seat.

“After that, the guy was running backwards and forwards groping women and apparently lifting their skirts,” said Jacqui Beadle, whose partner was on the plane.
“A couple of massive dudes pinned him to the bottom and the stewardesses handcuffed him and fastened bandages around his legs. Then they took a bundle of straps and strapped him sideways to the seat within the last row.”
Within the recording captured by one other passenger, the person may be heard screaming off-camera.
“I’m physically hurt, I can barely feel my hands,” he shouts, while one other passenger says, “He’s crazy, he’s screaming – I hope they get him out.”
The police are yet to comment. The nationality of the passenger is unclear.
