An Australian woman made a “one in a billion” discovery at her local Woolworths supermarket: a perfectly round egg.
The client shared the “egg” find with Melbourne-based 3AW shipper Jacqui Felgate, who said it got here in a carton purchased from Woolworths supermarket in the inner city.
“From an observer: That is so random, but I assumed I’d share this excellent find,” the post reads.
A “Quick Google” revealed that it was not only a “one in a billion” discovery, but that the rare eggs were sold for a pretty penny.
Felgate wrote, “Literally one egg in a billion is round, and the last one found sold for over $1,400!”
Users reacted to the crushing find, with some feeling sorry for the “poor kitty” who needed to lay it down, and others taking full advantage of the chance to land a pun.

“To begin with wow! Secondly, this lady either has small hands or this egg is HUGE,” one user wrote.
“You are yellowing me,” wrote one other.
One joked, “People buy eggs for $1,400? That is egg torture.
“No, I’d say low-cost low-cost,” replied the user.
Other supporters admitted that that they had to make a double approach, initially considering the egg was a giant ball of chocolate or caramel.
But some said in addition they found round eggs in their grocery purchases.

One even suggested to a woman who found a rare egg that she test her luck and buy a lottery ticket.
Furthermore, users were amazed at the possibly high price a round egg could fetch, writing that they “need to know who spends $1,400. And what do they do with it?
“You absolutely either have to sell it or frame it,” one woman suggested.
In keeping with the web publication High-quality Dining Experts, in 2019 a perfectly round egg went up for auction on eBay.
On the auction, the starting price for an egg was $100, and the minimum bid was $30.
It’s a very expensive omelette.
