Apple Watch Ultra under water
Apple
Even when programmers, financial analysts and choose members of the media have direct contact with them Apples the new Vision Pro headset, the company is set to release refreshed versions of its existing offerings, based on a Bloomberg report.
Apple is expected to stay with its traditional fall iPhone 15 launch, but the company may also roll out a variety of updates across its major product lines over the next 12 months.
On Sunday, Bloomberg reported that a pair of new 24-inch iMacs will hit the market. Apple has also began early work on an excellent larger 30-inch iMac, which could be the company’s largest all-in-one screen thus far. The iPad Pro and iPad Air are also expected to get a refresh, with the two iPad Pro models finally getting OLED screens.
A new Apple Watch Ultra is also expected, in addition to two sizes of the next-generation Apple Watch 9, based on the report.
As reported by Bloomberg, the MacBook Pro will likely be available in 13-, 14- and 16-inch models, all of which can feature Apple’s new M3 chipset. Nevertheless, the M3 is not going to power Apple’s $3,500 headset, which can as an alternative depend on Apple’s current generation M2 processor. Apple already shipped a new 15-inch MacBook Air at WWDC, but Bloomberg reports that the next refresh is already in the works.
Along with the new products, consumers and investors are watching to see how the company’s Vision Pro will sell. Apple is the newest entrant into the virtual reality space, and while the hands-on experience has been largely positive, some have reported motion sickness or the uncomfortable weight of the headset. Still, the specs suggest the Vision Pro is more powerful than just about all of its competitors, with two high-resolution screens and custom processors to scale back latency.
Apple is expected to chill out its tight controls on who can bring a headset home, Bloomberg reported, expanding the circle from only its most senior engineers and executives. Based on the report, “chosen” developers may also get access to the headset starting next month as the company looks to expand its VisionOS ecosystem.
Based on the report, work on two new and forked product lines, one high-end second-generation model that will likely be a continuation of the original Vision Pro, and the other a low-end version, has already begun.
