The Walt Disney company has all the time been on the forefront of recent storytelling technologies. On Monday, he announced a latest partnership with Apple to bring its Disney+ streaming service to the tech giant’s latest augmented reality headset.
The headset, dubbed Vision Pro, will allow users to interact with digital content in mixed reality. It will retail for $3,499.
Disney CEO Bob Iger said the brand new technology will enhance the Disney+ viewing experience, noting that when the headset launches early next 12 months, users will have the option to access the streaming service.

“We’re always on the lookout for latest ways to entertain, inform and encourage our fans, combining extraordinary creativity with breakthrough technology to create truly extraordinary experiences,” Iger said during Apple’s WWDC 2023 keynote on Monday. “We imagine Apple Vision Pro is a revolutionary platform that could make our vision a reality.”
The demo video for the Disney/Apple collaboration featured 3D visuals of a basketball court, showing how users could immerse themselves in sports competitions from home, in addition to immersive National Geographic content that placed the viewer in the course of the ocean.
“This will allow us to create deeply personal experiences that bring our fans closer to the characters they love,” said Iger. “This platform will allow us to bring Disney closer to our fans in a way that was previously unattainable.”
The sizzling reel also showed Mickey Mouse coming to life within the front room, a Disney theme park fireworks display exploding within the kitchen, and fans watching Star Wars content from the surface of the planet.
“We’re very proud to once more partner with the world’s largest storytelling company with the world’s most revolutionary tech company to bring you the magic of real life,” said Iger.
