Police are still trying to access “phone downloads” between a highschool teacher and a 15-year-old child she allegedly prepared, a court heard.
Chelsea Jane Edwards, 28, a teacher at Indooroopilly State High School in Brisbane, Australia, was charged in March with two counts of grooming and one count of indecent treatment of a baby under 16.
Police say in court documents that Edwards had contact with the kid on various occasions between July and September 2022, when the seduction offenses allegedly began.
Edwards allegedly “deliberately exposed” the kid to an indecent photo in September.

The documents further allege that she engaged in behavior with the intent to “encourage” a baby to engage in a sexual act in Queensland between July 7 and September 14, 2022.
Edwards didn’t appear before Brisbane Magistrates’ Court when her case was briefly mentioned on Monday.
Edwards’ attorney, Alex Somers, told the court he was still waiting for the total evidence to be handed over from the police.

The prosecution’s Director of Public Prosecutions told the court that officers were still trying to access “phone downloads” of Edwards and the alleged victim “together”.
The court heard that the arresting officer was also due to make a full statement but was currently on leave.
Judge Mark Nolan ordered the discharge of the downloads and full evidence to the defense by June 26.
