A kid’s cartoon a couple of family of dogs needed to be edited into an episode about fitness after viewers objected to the daddy’s self-critical nature about his weight.
“Bluey” is a cartoon a couple of family of Australian Cattle Dogs that has change into extremely popular lately.
In line with the rating, it was in the highest ten most broadcast series within the US recent Nielsen rankings and even got a balloon on the Recent York Thanksgiving parade.
A recent episode of the show was reportedly edited by its creators at Ludo Studios in Brisbane, Australia after some accused one episode of “fat shaming”.
“The newest edition [sic] of Bluey, which aired on ABC in Australia, showed the title character’s parents complaining about their weight,” wrote Nichola Rutherford of the BBC. “Critics said the show could make young viewers worry about their very own bodies. A spokesman for ABC said the episode was edited and the new edition could be syndicated worldwide.
The episode “Exercise” begins with Bluey’s father, Bandit, weighing himself while Bluey is in the bath, noting that he must get some exercise.
His wife, Chilli, agrees.

“This a part of the show has now been cut after some parents and health experts raised concerns about body shaming on social media,” Rutherford wrote. “Some said they didn’t want their children to see adults dissatisfied with their body shape and using only exercise to drop some weight.”
A spokesperson for the Australia Broadcasting Corporation told the BBC he supported the selection to vary the episode.
“Bluey’s final episode, Exercise, has been republished by ABC following a call by the show’s creators,” a spokesperson said. “The new edition gives families the flexibility to have essential conversations in their very own way. As Bluey’s home, ABC supports the choice to re-edit the show, and we have updated the episode on our platforms.”

Several GBN hosts joked with outrage.
“I worry about this sort of stuff that has a number of social justice messages in cartoons,” said host Andrew Doyle. “You, we even had Pink News do a report on Bluey about it last 12 months where they criticized it saying that there is not enough gender or canine diversity in Bluey and Bluey is definitely blue.”
One other panel member responded that his family loves the show and joked about what he had heard in regards to the episode thus far: “Dad worries about his weight and says ‘Perhaps I should work out a bit’ and Mum says ‘Here possibly you must, ooo! Now I’m surprised Dad doesn’t say the B-word to Mom because they’re dogs. You will get away with it.
