Italian tennis player Camila Giorgi is at the middle of a COVID-19 vaccine controversy in which her family doctor claimed the athlete had asked to receive a fake certificate confirming that she had received the vaccine.
Chatting with the Italian publication Corriere del Veneto on Saturday, Daniela Grillone, Giorgi’s GP, stated that “not one of the vaccines against” the tennis player or her relatives “have actually been administered”.
“Giorgi’s family was treated by me for a very long time. Camila Giorgi suffered from the so-called tennis elbow,” said Grillone. in line with Yahoo Sports Australia.

“Shortly before the start of the summer, she got here asking for the opportunity of obtaining false evidence for all mandatory vaccines, in addition to the Covid vaccine. I can confirm with absolute certainty that not one of the vaccines against Giorgi’s family were actually given,” continued Grillone.
Last month, This has been reported that Giorgi – who’s currently ranked 66th in the world – was investigated for allegedly obtaining false vaccination records. Grillone was arrested last February for allegedly administering fake serums, in line with News.com.au.
Grillone said she was “deeply upset and sorry for my behavior”.

The WTA said in a statement to News.com.au that it was “aware of the allegations and is currently monitoring the situation and any investigations which may be launched.”
Giorgi competed in last 12 months’s Australian Open and US Open; each countries required proof of vaccination from travelers on the time. From July, travelers entering Australia not need to offer proof of COVID vaccination. Giorgi is predicted to participate in this 12 months’s tournament, which starts on Monday, January 16.
Novak Djokovic, who is just not vaccinated, was deported from Australia last 12 months after attempting to enter the country for the Australian Open. He’ll play in this 12 months’s tournament.
