Fans are concerned as the thirty ninth season of the historic game show Jeopardy! ends on July 28, while the fate of the fortieth season stays unclear.
The show’s current season will be the last episode the writers worked on before the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike, and with no clues written for next season, it’s unclear if the show will be able to proceed in time for the annual Champions Tournament, which is ready to begin in September.
“We have now no idea when the show will return, either in syndication or on ABC,” one Reddit the user told about the fate of the series.
WGA is a trade union representing writers for movies, television, documentaries and most forms of recorded media have recently gone on strike to advocate for higher streaming fees and protection from AI seizure.

Colleague confused “Danger!” fans reacted to the show’s uncertainty online.
“If the strike continues into the fall TV season, there will be no threat! in any respect,” one other worried fan replied in the thread.
Several fans suggested that the showrunners revisit questions from old episodes, but others rejected the idea.
“They are not going to recreate verbatim questions from the archives. I do know “Danger!” they process lots of questions, but they’re at all times changing something, and that’s for the writers, and they can not just have the producers do the job.”

The show will likely be taped two months upfront, meaning that under normal circumstances the fortieth season would now be in full production.
The strike comes at an inconvenient time for all of Hollywood, but especially for “Jeopardy!” as the show has undergone many changes since iconic host Alex Trebek passed away after battling pancreatic cancer in November 2020.
Actress Mayim Bialik, who has alternately hosted Ken Jennings since last summer, left during the show’s final week of filming in May to sympathize with the writers, according to the deadline.

Fans on the same Reddit forum commented on the plight of the new hosts, saying “If the strike continues into the fall and so they try to discover a way to proceed the show without writers, I do not think they’ll have Ken or Mayim.
SAG-AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) also threatened to go on strike together with WGA, which would come with most of Hollywood’s actors and current Jeaprody co-hosts.
Fans on Reddit he noted this added challenge, saying “Where are they going to get the hosts when Ken and Mayim are probably happening strike on Wednesday?”
The SAG-AFTRA strike remains to be hanging over the heads of Hollywood studios meet with federal mediators and union activists so as to reach an agreement and avoid one other strike altogether.
“Danger!” is now one other helpful program affected by the rules that the WGA and SAG-AFTRA consider are existential threat writers, movies and tv.
