David’s Bridal is laying off thousands of staff across the country because it plans to sell the business – weeks before the marriage season begins.
The country’s largest bridal gown retailer laid off the primary round of staff on Friday and plans to put off the remainder in two separate phases that may run until August, a WARN warning has been sent with shows by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor.
A complete of 9,236 staff will probably be cut across 300 David’s Bridal stores in massive layoffs.
“We’re evaluating our strategic options and the sale process is underway,” a spokesperson told The Post.
“There are not any updates to share presently and all stores are open to serve customers. Providing excellent service stays our goal and we’re committed to serving and delivering to our fiancées and clients and being part of magical moments.”
The employees of the corporation were the primary to get the axe, a similar warning WARNING filed with programs in Colorado.
Distribution center employees will work in June, while field and store employees will probably be laid off from June to August.

The precise location of the layoffs shouldn’t be yet known, but notices warn that each one employees might be affected.
“The layoffs are expected to be everlasting, although latest opportunities may emerge depending on the performance of the Company’s sales efforts,” Andrea Dauphinee, the corporate’s senior vp of human resources, said within the documents.

The corporate is claimed to be struggling to administer costs it incurred five years earlier – it first filed for bankruptcy after accumulating $400 million in debt.
