Prince Joachim of Denmark focuses on America.
On Friday, the palace announced that the second son of Queen Margaret and his wife, Princess Mary, is moving to Washington this summer.
The 53-year-old will start his latest job on the Danish Embassy on the Ministry of Defense on September 1.
The couple’s two children, 13-year-old son Henrik and 11-year-old daughter Atena, are believed to be joining their parents in the massive move.
Joachim can be the daddy of sons Nikolai (23) and Felix (20) from a previous marriage to Alexandra, Countess of Frederiksborg.
The connection lasted from 1995 to 2005.
He remarried in 2008 to Marie.
The palace announcement said Joachim and his 47-year-old wife moved to France 4 years ago.
“The rationale was that Prince Joachim initiated the highest-ranking military training in France as a complement to the Prince’s long-term commitment to defense,” the statement read. “After completing their education, each the Prince and Princess were attached to the Danish Embassy in Paris as Defense Attaché and Special Representative for Cultural Affairs, respectively.”

The move is critical because the Queen announced last yr that she was stripping Joachim’s 4 children of their prince and princess titles.
In early 2023, they became often called His/Her Excellency Count Monpezat as an alternative of His/Her Highness.
Following the announcement, the prince sat down to BT’s Danish outlet for a joint interview with the princess.
Joachim claimed he had not spoken to his mother, brother Prince Frederik or sister-in-law Princess Maria following the shocking news.

“Along with her decision, Her Majesty The Queen wants to create a framework for her 4 grandchildren to give you the chance to shape their own lives to a much greater extent, without being constrained by the special considerations and responsibilities that formal affiliation with the Royal House of Denmark as an establishment,” the palace said earlier in a press release. .
The change is believed to have been made to streamline the long run of the monarchy.
Nonetheless, Joachim argued that the family should come first.
“The truth still has to be this: whether you are upgrading or slimming down, it has to be done the proper way,” he told the outlet. “It’s concerning the children. Order and children. It’s a really hard thing.”
The 82-year-old Queen apologized for upsetting her relations over the choice.
But she didn’t want to change her mind.
“It’s my duty and my desire as Queen to be certain that the monarchy at all times stays consistent with the times. Sometimes meaning hard decisions have to be made and it would at all times be difficult to find the proper moment,” she wrote in a press release.
“This adjustment … I consider it essential to secure the monarchy for the long run,” said Europe’s longest-reigning monarch. She didn’t change her decision.
“I made a call as a queen, mother and grandmother. But as a mother and grandmother, I underestimated the extent to which my younger son and his family feel affected. This could be very impressive and I apologize for that,” Margrethe wrote in a press release.
