Drudge Report criticized Elon Musk for blocking half a dozen left-wing journalists from Twitter – and looked as if it would speculate that the billionaire could have been on drugs recently.
Matt Drudge ran his popular news aggregation website on Friday morning with several news stories about Musk’s controversial crackdown, which the tech billionaire claimed stemmed from concerns about his family’s personal safety.
Two of the stories that Drudge featured prominently on his website detail Musk’s prior use of the anti-somnolative sedative Ambien, in addition to the psychoactive substance MDMA or “ecstasy” and psilocybin mushrooms as a recreational drug.
“Is he tripping over drugs?” headlined the Drudge Report. This was linked to a story from the news site Futurism, which summarized an October Recent York Times article detailing how Musk was “occasionally” known to dabble in recreational drug use.
In October, reports the Times that Musk attended parties where he and his friends would go on “gentle voyages of discovery” that may include recreational drug use.
In accordance with the Times, Musk often showed his colleagues a chart explaining why MDMA and mushrooms are healthier for human consumption than alcohol.

Drudge also linked to a 2018 CNBC article titled: “Ambien tweeting” is becoming a well-liked excuse – because it might probably actually cause bizarre unwanted effects.”
CNBC story linked to Recent York Times interview with Musk by which he admitted he relied on Ambien to go to sleep.
“It’s often a no-sleep or Ambien selection” Musk told the Times in 2018.
During this interview, Musk was reportedly near tears, describing the previous yr as the “hardest and most painful” of his profession.

At the time of the interview, Musk was under fire from investors at his electric automobile company, Tesla, who were upset over a tweet a couple of possible takeover of the company for $420 a share.
The number “420” is commonly used to check with marijuana use. Musk’s penchant for mischief has caused concern amongst Tesla investors, especially after he appeared on Joe Rogan’s popular podcast and smoked marijuana.
His tweet about taking ownership of Tesla also prompted the Securities and Exchange Commission to take legal motion.
Ambien, an insomnia medication manufactured by pharmaceutical giant Sanofi-Aventis, “may cause some people, especially older people, to experience drowsiness, lightheadedness, lightheadedness, clumsiness or uncertainty, or less alertness than usual, which may result in falls.” in keeping with the Mayo Clinic.

National Institutes of Health says those that use MDMA “They usually experience confusion, depression, anxiety, paranoia, and impaired memory and a focus processes.”
Psilocybin mushrooms or magic mushrooms are hallucinogenic substances which can be cultivated in tropical and subtropical parts of South America, Mexico and the USA.
While the drug has been shown to be useful for people affected by depression, there’s a risk that excessive doses could cause a “bad trip” that could cause paranoia, lack of boundaries, and a distorted sense of self. in keeping with Canadian health officials.
Musk, who disbanded Twitter’s media relations division after taking up the company in late October, couldn’t be reached for comment immediately.
He claims that the decision to ban journalists is as a result of allegedly “doxxing” his exact location. Musk also banned Jack Sweeney, a Florida college sophomore who ran the @Elonjet Twitter account that monitored the tech mogul’s private jet flights.
