United States Virgin Islands spent subpoena Down Tesla CEO Elon Musk is in search of documents for this government’s lawsuit against JPMorgan Chase Court records were released Monday in reference to sex trafficking by the bank’s late long-time client, Jeffrey Epstein.
This filing stated that the Virgin Islands had unsuccessfully attempted to serve Musk with a subpoena that was issued on April 28, attributable to suspicions that Epstein “can have referred or attempted to refer” Musk as a client to JPMorgan.
The U.S. Territory has asked Manhattan Federal Court Judge Jed Rakoff for permission to serve Musk a subpoena for documents with Tesla’s registered agent.
The subpoena calls on Musk to show over any documents showing communications between him, JPMorgan and Epstein, in addition to “all documents reflecting or referring to Epstein’s involvement in human trafficking and/or his acquisition of ladies or women for consensual sex.”
The Virgin Islands is suing JPMorgan for allegedly allowing and taking advantage of Epstein’s trafficking of young women to his private island in territory to be utilized by him and others.
JPMorgan denies the federal government’s claims, that are reflected in a separate civil lawsuit pending in Manhattan federal court by a girl who claims Epstein sexually abused her. JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon is about to be ousted for each trials starting May 26.
A court filing filed May 4 by the Virgin Islands revealed that the federal government had issued an identical subpoena for documents for Google co-founder Larry Page, and that it was also having difficulty locating Page.
And the territory had previously issued subpoenas to Page’s co-founder Sergey Brin, former Disney executive Michael Ovitz, Hyatt Hotels executive Thomas Pritzker and real estate billionaire Mort Zuckerman.
In Monday’s filing, the Virgin Islands said: “In response to information and belief, Elon Musk – amongst others CEO of Tesla, Inc. – is an individual of high net price that Epstein can have referred or attempted to seek advice from JPMorgan. “
The federal government said it had hired an investigation firm to attempt to locate Musk’s address and had also contacted one in all his lawyers.
This lawyer in previous federal cases waived the requirement to serve legal documents in person, in keeping with the dossier.
“The federal government contacted Mr. Musk’s legal counsel via email to ask if he can be authorized to simply accept service on Mr. Musk’s behalf on this matter, but has not received a response confirming or denying his authorization,” the filing reads.
CNBC asked Musk for comment. Along with being the CEO of Tesla, Musk is the top of SpaceX and the owner of Twitter.
Epstein said in 2018 Recent York Times author James Stewart that he advised Musk after the Securities and Exchange Commission launched an investigation into Musk’s comments about taking the corporate private.

When the Times contacted Tesla for comment, the corporate vehemently denied the claim, saying “It’s incorrect to say that Epstein ever advised Elon on anything.” Epstein predicted to Stewart that “everyone at Tesla would deny talking to him or being his friend,” in keeping with an article about their interview.
Epstein, a former friend of Donald Trump’s Bill Clinton and Britain’s Prince Andrew, was a client of the bank from 1998 to 2013. In 2008, he pleaded guilty to a Florida state charge of soliciting sex from an underage girl.
Epstein committed suicide in a Manhattan prison in August 2019, a month after being arrested on child sex trafficking charges.
