“Wow, I never knew it was even a thing,” said one. “I’m not surprised it would not work. So many individuals would ‘eat this place'”
“I never knew they existed!” added one other.
Others shared memories of visiting KFC buffets in Australia a few years ago.
“Ahhh KFC All-You-Can-Eat in Bondi Junction. $8.95 – where I selected to eat ONLY the skin of 6 pieces (because I could), drank it with unlimited sauce, then proudly vomited!” one laughed.
“One in all the proudest moments of my 20s!”
One other wrote: “1995/96 Jamisontown, NSW. 8.95 – I gained 14 kg in my sophomore yr.”
In January, one other member of the group shared a photograph of old-school Pizza Hut all-you-can-eat buffets, of which there are still a couple of scattered across the country.
A person shared a photograph of a buffet stand in the course of a Pizza Hut restaurant in Windsor, NSW, which was still decorated in the identical classic 90s decor.
He said he visited the buffet recently and it was “pretty good”.
“Nice deep pan pizza with an actual cooked base. So lots of my recent deep pan takeaway pizzas have been doughy,” he wrote.
“Overall a pleasing experience, but with approx. 1 hour of travel in each direction, not a single one I’ll repeat in a rush.”
“Oh, I wish they’d bring these restaurants back into service. These were real social gathering places,” commented one among the people.
