Disgraced Hillsong Pastor Carl Lentz keeps his fans updated on his life after being fired from megachurch in 2020 over a public fraud scandal.
Ahead of the brand new series of FX documents “Hillsong Secrets” — premiere on May 19 — Lentz, 44, wrote a long instagram post and revealed where he stands along with his wife Laura.
The previous pastor admitted he had cheated on his spouse of 20 years in November 2020.
“For the past 3 years, I actually have focused solely on fighting for my wife and youngsters,” he began his social media note.
“So as to achieve this, sobriety and healing needed to go hand in hand with these goals,” wrote the noted pastor.
Lentz continued, “I just desired to prove to my wife and youngsters that I could show myself to them like never before.”
“Although we now have an extended solution to go, numerous work, numerous honesty and numerous prayer, we’re in a fantastic, glad and consciously honest place,” he said.
He then shared that he and Laura celebrated their twentieth wedding anniversary on May 5.
Lentz and his family appear on the FX series where he confessed that the commemoration of the wedding couldn’t happen without “humiliation, embarrassment and heartache.”
“A part of the healing from this heartache led us to make your mind up to be a part of a documentary that we now have no control over, that we now have no say in and that we have not even seen yet,” he said.

He added: “We’ll see it when the world does it. We weren’t curious about shifting blame or diverting responsibility, we’re focused on my mistakes and the context of what happened.”
Lentz also revealed that he now not preaches and his “role is to assist bring perspective and insight where possible.”
“I can say that I understand this and my relationship with Jesus in a way that I could not from the pulpit. Repentance and life change are proven over time through consistent decisions, and this can be a path I stay up for taking,” he wrote. “I actually wonder if that is what all of the pain was about.”

The scandalous and controversial church was also explored in The Post and Discovery+’s 2022 documentary “Hillsong: A Megachurch Exposed”.
This system took a deep dive into the history of the church and its founder Brian Houston.
Houston, 69, also had a troublesome yr and was charged with embezzling funds and covering up child sexual abuse.

Houston also stepped down as director of Hillsong last January, and formally resigned from the organization two months later after a an investigation into irregularities.
An internal investigation found that Houston had behaved inappropriately towards the 2 women.
Houston formed Hillsong in 1983 in Australia and crossed paths with Lentz in 2010.
Hillsong has been attracting celebrity admirers like Justin and Hailey Bieber, Selena Gomez, Kendall Jenner and Chris Pratt for years.
