Accused of crypto fraud, Sam Bankman-Fried made one other bail offer Thursday in hopes of getting out of a vermin-infested prison within the Bahamas.
The request was made after a magistrate within the Caribbean country ordered the arrest of Bankman-Fried pending his potential extradition to the US, a source aware of the matter told Reuters.
Bankman-Fried was arrested Monday night within the Bahamas and charged within the Southern District of Latest York in federal indictments including fraud, money laundering, conspiracy and campaign finance violation.
He faces a maximum of 115 years in prison if convicted.
It’s unclear what argument Bankman-Fried made in his renewed bail application, but local report he said he can be questioned on January 17.
Bankman-Fried’s attorney didn’t immediately return a request for comment.

The accused crypto fraudster is being held at Fox Hill Prison, a notorious prison that was the topic of a damning State Department report that detailed the inhumane conditions at the power.
“The final problem was sanitation and the cells were infested with rats, bugs and insects” the report states.
“Prisoners removed human waste in buckets,” the federal government wrote, adding that prisoners were crammed into tiny 6-by-10-foot cells.
“Some prisoners developed bedsores from lying on the bare ground,” it continues.
Bankman-Fried has indicated he intends to fight for extradition to the US, where he can have to use for bail with federal prosecutors in Manhattan.
Meanwhile, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said it intends to charge Bankman-Fried’s co-conspirators with involvement in considered one of the biggest financial frauds in U.S. history.
